Eastern Women's Baseball Conference

For more than 20 years the Eastern Women’s Baseball Conference (EWBC) has been providing opportunities for women and girls in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan area to play baseball. The league currently features four teams playing in a season which begins in May and goes through August. The EWBC provides indoor training and workouts during the winter months.

The women of the EWBC come from all walks of life - students, teachers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, and more. As a 501c3 organization, the league is committed to promoting the sport of baseball for women and girls of all ages at the local, regional, national and international levels. And EWBC players are active in the community. The league participates in the U.S. State Department’s Sports United Program, which brings foreign teens and their coaches to the U.S. to learn about the technical aspects of their chosen sport and about American culture. The EWBC also partners with the Chesapeake Men's Senior Baseball League to raise funds to battle breast and prostate cancer.

The EWBC strives to balance the recreational and competitive nature of baseball. Players span all ages and all levels of experience, from former U.S. National team members and semi-pro softball players to those playing organized ball for the first time. For competitive players, the EWBC also has an all-star team - the DC Thunder - that plays in regional and national tournaments. And the league hosts an annual tournament in Anne Arundel County on Memorial Day weekend, featuring teams from all around the country.
